All ‘Goblin’ Class 710 units accepted

LONDON Overground has accepted all eight Class 710/2 EMUs for use on the Gospel Oak to Barking service.

It means the line is finally operated exclusively by the Bombardier-built four-car sets, and has allowed the 15-minute service frequency to be restored. The service is used by 30,000 passengers per day, and it was planned to begin with the new trains in May 2018.

Transport for London is providing 30 days of free travel from August 31 to October 1 as a thank you to the patience of passengers who have endured problematic travel conditions.

The cost is being paid for by Bombardier Transportation because of the delays incurred introducing the trains.

Passengers using Oystercards or contactless payments will be refunded the single pay-as-you-go fare applicable at stations between Gospel Oak and Barking.
