Construction work is almost complete on the new Worcestershire Parkway station, with testing and commissioning expected to be complete ready for opening on December 15.
The split-level station will be operated by Great Western Railway (GWR) on behalf of Worcestershire County Council, with CrossCountry Cardiff to Nottingham trains serving the lower platforms on the Birmingham to Cheltenham direct line.
GWR’s Cotswold Line trains will provide direct links to London Paddington, Oxford, Worcester and Hereford on the upper level.
The station will have 500 car parking spaces, 25 charging points for electric cars,
a wildlife corridor and nature reserve, with part of the station building having a living roof to encourage wildlife.
