New Hull Trains managing director named
David Gibson has been appointed as the new managing director for First Group’s open access operator Hull Trains. David joins the business on 1 October to lead Hull Trains on what it described as ‘its continued journey to recovery after the challenges of the global pandemic’. After leaving the RAF in 2003, David joined Hull City Council as assistant chief executive. He then moved to Capita’s Consulting and Transformation division as a director in the Programme & Project Management Practice, and his more recent jobs include managing director for DB Regio Tyne & Wear and service delivery director for Caledonian MacBrayne Ferries. First Rail managing director Andy Mellors said: ‘David, who lives in the East Riding of Yorkshire, is passionate about the region, and is excited by the opportunity to lead Hull Trains to regain its position as leading operator for rail passenger satisfaction.’
