Rebuilt DMUs to operate Praha service Uncategorized by railsistem@gmail.com - March 28, 2019March 29, 20190 CZECH REPUBLIC: Last month Slovak rolling stock supplier ŽOS Zvolen delivered two Class 813/913.2 two-car diesel multiple-units which passenger operator KŽC Doprava ordered at a cost of €3m. They have been deployed since February 19 on Praha suburban line S34 from Praha-Masarykovo to Praha-Čakovice, replacing Class 810/010 railcars on the route which KŽC operates on behalf of Praha transport authority Ropid under contract running to 2028. Converted from Class 011 non-powered trailers, the 28·82 m long partly low-floor DMUs comprise a permanently-coupled power and driving car, powered by a 310 kW Tedom TD310R6HTA26 engine through a Voith DIWA hydromechanical transmission with Mirel electronic controls. They have a maximum speed of 90 km/h, with the air-conditioned interiors offering 69 fixed and three folding seats, space for 102 standees, a PRM-compliant toilet, new passenger information system, CCTV and wi-fi. Eight similar DMUs branded ‘Mravec’ (Ant) were supplied to Slovak national operator ZSSK in 2017-18 for used on regional services, and ZSSK also leases three pre-series prototype units.
