Elsecar Railway to reunite former driver with Bessie

THE Elsecar Heritage Railway (EHR) has been approached by Samuel Nye regarding
0-6-0DH No. 2895 Earl of Strafford (Yorkshire 2895 of 1964), which is out of use, awaiting attention. 

Sam’s grandfather Peter Vaughan (90) used to drive the loco, nicknamed Bessie, at the British Gypsum works at Tutbury, Burton-on-Trent, working trains to and from the exchange siding at Hatton.
