Interrail exit decision reversed

THE Rail Delivery Group has reversed a decision to leave the Interrail scheme. When announced, the development prompted a backlash on social media and transport secretary Grant Shapps also called for a rethink, while TSSA general secretary Manuel Cortes branded the move as ‘small minded’ and ‘nonsense’. Robert Nisbet of the RDG said: ‘Britain’s train companies never wanted to leave Interrail. Following the strong reaction to news of our departure we and Eurail, the company which runs Interrail, renewed talks. We are pleased to be able to tell passengers that we have reached an agreement.’
