
THE 125 Group has experienced the highs and lows of preservation – all in the space of two days.
Just 48 hours after the team’s disappointment over the decision by the National Railway Museum to terminate the loan agreement for unique Prototype power car No. 41001, there was a feeling of elation when Porterbook announced it was donating two East Midlands Railway power cars to the group.

Having taken on the custodianship of the prototype power car under Project Miller, sourcing missing parts and returning the vehicle from a static exhibit to full working order over the past five years, the news the loan was being ended was a bombshell to the group, which is based at the Great Central Railway (Nottingham).
