Euston’s landmark towers vanish as HS2 redevelopment work continues Uncategorized by railsistem@gmail.com - November 11, 20190 PREPARATORY work is continuing at London Euston despite ongoing uncertainty over whether High Speed 2 trains will ever serve the station. Contractors are quickly demolishing the two early-1970s tower blocks in front of the station, clearing the land for the redevelopment and expansion. Progress on the demolition of the office blocks at London Euston in readiness for HS2 construction. HS2 LTD Four floors have already been removed from Grant Thornton House and One Euston Square, and the modernist ‘black towers’, designed by architect Richard Seifert, are expected to be reduced to first floor level by January.
