Millions of pounds repaid to season ticket holders
TRAIN operators are working hard to refund claims from many thousands of season ticket holders who can no longer travel for the time being because of the coronavirus restrictions. All claims can be backdated to 17 March at the earliest because the government urged people to work from home from that date, even if the tickets are not surrendered unti later. Greater Anglia alone has estimated that it will have to repay ‘several million pounds’, after receiving claims from more than a quarter of its 60,000 season ticket users, with more expected to follow.
