More London Underground stations will begin reopening from Monday (June 8) as lockdown restrictions are gradually lifted.

When lockdown measures were introduced in March, many Underground stations were closed with only key stations remaining open. 

TfL announced on May 18, following discussions with the Government before the announcement of the lockdown restrictions being lifted, an increase in public transport service levels to make journeys as safe as possible for people who have no alternative other than to use public transport as national restrictions on movement are cautiously and progressively lifted.

Which stations are reopening?

From Monday 8 June some stations are reopening as agreed in the the government’s £1.6 billion bailout for Transport for London. The following stations will reopen:

• Barbican
• Caledonian Road
• Holland Park
• Mornington Crescent

This leaves still the majority of tube stations closed. Until further notice, Waterloo and City line services will remain closed with Night Tube or Night Overground services in operation. A reduced service will continue to operate across the Tube, London Overground, DLR, TfL Rail and London Trams.

People who have to use public transport have been advised by TfL to wear face coverings and avoid the busiest times and locations.
